you guys are jerkfaces....

I've been checking this thing all weekend to see if someone would update, but no one has...then the thought occurred to me that I could just do it myself...so I am. Unfortunately I have nothing to say that is remotely interesting to the general population. Just got off work...got a choir concert tomorrow...tonight I get an extra hour of sleep and I'm spending it awake, go figure. :) Other than that I've had a fairly boring weekend, oh, except for Friday night, when I went to the Booseum and took pics of all the little kids dressed up in cute costumes. The one dressed as Bob the Builder won the contest...so cute! Well...I'm gonna head out now...hope you guys are still alive. You should probably come home soon. Thanks...

Good Weekend

Mar, I'm so glad that you remembered that night and recapped it for us all again. That was so much fun. Also, remember when my dad was sitting in the car outside of Morgan's house ready to video tape, but then felt really weird. That was pretty funny too. I can't remember, but was this when he was the "gorilla" or was that a different time?

Life has been good here. I've been staying busy with work, school, and basketball. This weekend was good. I had a lot of fun with Jeremy. Jared and Matt both left for the weekend, so it was just Jeremy and me. Friday night we were supposed to go bowling with our sister hall. We got in the car with 3 other guys, who had no clue where we were going and didn't want to go. They just kinda got dragged into it. Anyways, we were supposed to follow our RA. We were parked on the side of the entrance waiting for him to come. We saw a car fly by us that looked like his car, so we took off following it. After driving for a few minutes and catching up to the car, we realized that it wasn't even the right car. So, we pull a U-turn. We were trying to figure out which bowling alley it would be. We end up pulling another U-turn and go to a bowling alley. No one from our group was there. We leave to go to another one. Once again, nobody from our group. There was a McDonald's right next door to the second bowling alley, so we decided to walk there. It was only open for drive thru, so we decide to forget it all and go back to the campus. Throughout this whole time, the other guys are cracking us up. They are joking around and arguing trying to figure it out, all with no success. When we get back to the dorm, the girls call and ask us if we were still coming. We said no, and ordered pizza. Well, that was kinda long. Sorry about that.

The rest of the weekend was good too, but I'll spare you the details.

By the way, my first class today got cancelled. :)

family time!!!

Hey! I'm back! I had a good time with Aunt Janet and Aaron and Chris! :) I love family! They are wonderful. We went to Cold Stone for ice cream. We went Chris' team's soccer game and ate at Portillo's. We met Chris' friend Magnus from Norway--he was cool. We walked around Ikea for two hours...no joke!:) We also checked out Chris' new house they are building--it's gonna be so cool! We went back to Aunt Janet's and watched movies...good times! Oh and I went to watch Aaron's friend-Trent-in a play at his school..it was really good for a high school play. They also have to pay $10,000 to go there--isn't that crazy? I stayed the night again while Em and Sarah went back to ONU. We went to church this morning and caught up with aunt Janet's friends and ate at a Mexican restaurant..fun fun! :) Now i'm back, procrastinating my Chemistry homework hardcore! :) i also need to unpack some day...ahh the weekend is officially over and i have to wake up for school tomorrow...blah. :)
Oh and God is amazing and I'm very much in love with HIM!!!!!
take care-Abby

WRITTEN BY MAR: THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!! REMEBER THE SLUMBER PARTY BETWEEN MORG"S AND CHRIS" HOUSE....

Faster, faster! They're catching up! My heart pounded as I sensed the group of
guys gaining on us. I stole a glance at Deanna, my partner in crime. She struggled
for breath; it seemed we had been running for miles.

"We will surely die!" I whispered loudly, repeating the words that had been spoken
several times that night.

"I know! Hurry up! We have to find a place to hide!" She frantically responded.

We were nearing our Morgan's house. We scurried across her driveway, hoping no one
was waiting for us behind a car or in the bushes. The yard was unfamiliar
territory, but we did not have time to be cautious. Still running pell-mell, we
turned the corner around the house and headed toward the backyard. Darkness
surrounded us as we distanced ourselves from the street lamps. Suddenly the ground
under my feet seemed to give out. I didn't know there was a hill here! I could not
slow down.

I looked over my shoulder, wondering if those tailing us were still close behind.
Before I could turn around, I felt twigs and leaves scraping my arms and legs, and
then I was airborne. Time seemed to slow down, making my "flight" last for minutes
rather than just seconds. I hit the ground, landing hard. I laid there for a few
seconds, stunned. The side of my face was pressed against the wet grass, my arms
and legs sprawled out in every direction.

Deanna stifled her laughter. "Are you okay?"

"I think so," I managed, not knowing whether to laugh or cry from the pain. I
pushed off the ground, turning my head and squinting to see what in the world had
caused me to fall. I discovered a three-foot drop-off, and at the lower level stood
a small tree, explaining the scrapes on my limbs. I began laughing, fully realizing
the hilarity of the scene, as I literally dove through the air, covering about ten
feet of ground.

"Let's go!" Deanna urged as she too, allowed herself to laugh.

Through the valley we ran, up a hill, and finally to the safety of the shadows. We
just sat for a moment, catching our breath. We looked at each other and both of us
started jabbering, recapping the evening between shrieks of laughter.

A group of girls was spending the night at Morgan's house, and a bunch of guys were
staying all night at Chris's house. Morgan and Chris live about a block away from
each other, so naturally, there were big plans for TP-ing. It was just before
midnight when Deanna and I took a quick trip to Walgreen's to buy toilet paper. We
hurried in and out, not wanting to stay longer than necessary. As Deanna fumbled
for her keys and we waited to get in the car, I noticed a man walking toward us.

"Hurry up! There's somebody heading straight for us!" I let my imagination get the
best of me; he was just crossing the parking lot, and we were between him and the
other side. We jumped in the car and slammed the doors, scared over nothing.

"We will die before this night is over," Deanna said jokingly.

I shook my head and smiled. We were getting closer to Morgan's house, where the
other girls were waiting for us. When we got there, however, the girls had already
left to begin TP-ing Chris's yard. We weren't fazed by their absence, and began
crossing the neighborhood on foot, toilet paper in hand. Dogs barked as we passed
their yards. I tensed up, grabbing Deanna's arm.

"We're going to die!" I muttered.

"Chill out, Mar," she told me. "They're just dogs!"

We reached Chris's yard in a few short minutes. The other girls were
busy in the back yard, so Deanna and I headed for the front. Just as I
began to throw the first roll of toilet paper, the door opened. We had
been caught! Leaving the toilet paper behind, we started running toward
Morgan's house. Then I had wiped out by the side of the house, and we
had made it to safety, at least for the moment.

By the time we finished running through the evening, play by play, we
had been discovered. Coming toward us from one direction were two of
the guys, and the only way out was to get on the street again, where
three other guys were waiting for us in a car. There was no escape, so
we reluctantly surrendered, sharing the tale of my fall. Deanna was
disappointed that no one caught the moment on tape, convinced that it
would win any Funniest Home Videos contest. The next morning we
guiltily retrieved our toilet paper to head for home, but not without
throwing a few pieces into the tree, just for good measure, of course.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA sorry-- that was a good one.. nothing has really been changing for me except for the fact that i played real volleyball since last year and i feel like i'm 90-- everything hurts.. but what do you excpect when the seven foot player whizzes the volleyball going 100 miles an hour past your arm hair and all you end up doing is looking like a retard as you hit the ground not even making contact with the ball :) ya i love exaggerating.. gives a great mental picture doesn't it lol

got another C on my psych test.. but its ok-- i go everyday and people say thats what gets you the good grade.. :)

Supersize me

hey everybody everybody....(that's from homestarrunner) guess what? I get to watch more of Supersize Me in nutrition at 730 in the morning!!!!! :) It's so exciting! Monday we watched some of it--including the part where he pukes up all this McDonald's food--i seriously cracked up so hard. After 20 minutes of eating his supersize fries and double quarter pounder...he was like "Oh guys, i gotta take a break" hahahahha then he puked all over the ground...amazing! I felt stupid tho cuz i was the only one laughing, everyone else just turned their heads and groaned. good times.
I'm playing powder puff for our class for homecoming...we are gonna die! :) But it should be fun..i hope. Thanks to all those wonderful memories of powder puff at DCS--gotta love 'em!
I fear I can only leave you with the quote from "the ugly one" of the teen girl squad who said, "i have a crush on every boy."
take care guys!
Abby

Shocking news.. to me anyways

I made the basketball team here at Northwestern! I really didn't think I was going to after yesterday's tryout, but today was a lot better. So, I thought I'd share the news. Thanks so much to all of you who were so positive toward me and prayed for me. I appreciate it. Sorry for being so negative too. Have a great night.

379 is a great number

Hey kids...what's up??

I had a pretty fun weekend...lots of friends I haven't seen for a while, including Beth Haupt who we went to pick up at the U of I for the weekend. She is doing so well...although dropping her off last night I felt a little guilty...that place is so big!! We went to a super cool italian place on campus, which happens to be the size of decatur only way cooler. Anyway, we also went to the homecoming games (at your friend and mine, Millikin University) and watched the football team and soccer team. My friend Bruce is a freshman kick butt varsity starter...and the goalie. He is amazing, and it was fun to get to cheer the team on. Last night I went to a bonfire at Faith for some good fellowship.

I'm also house sitting for some people (I think some of you know the Rohdes)...well, I'm sitting here in this huge house feeling like I'm in the lap of luxury but the lap is a little too big for comfort. :) Nevertheless, its nice to have a place that's my own for a week and get to have people over, like last night, to watch movies and eat food (she stocked up so well!). I also have some companions...2 little dogs that are Chihuahuas but not quite so weird...then a German/Lab mix that's approximately the size of a small horse, and then a medium sized lab mix that is totally white. oh...and two swans randomly. ....and a golf cart and a pond on 5 acres. I like it here.

I have a short week but both a bio and chem test on Wednesday. Prayers there would be appreciated...chem is my worst enemy right now. Oh wells. Anyway, I hope you all have a great week and enjoy your fall breaks or the week after...can't wait to see you again! Dude, Chris...do you believe in coming home any time soon? probably should do that at some point. CTF is waiting...along with ultimate pingpong in my basement any day you pick. Sorry this was so long...ttyl

for chris

i hope all of you are really depressed... i hope life is going horrible... and when things get hard.. eat! lol jk

KEEP LOOKING UP!!!! :)

home sweet home

Well, it's not exactly home, but I'm here more often..:)It was good seeing you guys this weekend..to share stories and all! But it's also nice to be back and see my friends. My roommate seriously started screaming when she saw me...:) she was smiling for like 1/2 hour! It was funny. I did good on my two tests I took on Friday..which is encouraging cuz i was beginning to get a lil worried about this whole college thing. But God's been good, and I've learned that what you learn is more important anyways...
Oh and we are walking A Walk to Remember in our room tonight!! Excitement!! I love that movie--Mary..:)
Well, have a good week guys~Abby

Not much here

I have had a good few days. It's been really busy, but they have been pretty good. I have a big English test tomorrow. Fun stuff right there. I have to get my basketball physical tomorrow morning. Tryouts are this weekend. That's about all I have today.

weekend/week/fall break

why do i always write like its a letter lol

Great Weekend

I had a really good last couple days. I went to a Hawk Nelson and Thousand Foot Krutch concert on Friday night. It was really good. I liked it a lot. Then on Saturday I went to both of my college's football games. We won 59-0 and 47-14. They were a lot of fun. Everyone was going crazy the whole time. I loved it. We went to Perkins after the second game. Then I went to church on Sunday morning. We had a chili supper after church. Then I got back to my college and realized that the Packers were actually winning! We won 52-3. That made me very happy, so I wore a Brett Favre jersey all day today. I got some good comments, but since I'm in Minnesota, there were some "Why are you wearing that?" comments. No mean ones though. haha I did some homework and then went to bed. Had work, then classes, then nothing. That was today. Pretty exciting, huh? Well, I'm off to bed.

Watch ESPN

Please watch ESPN tonight and tomorrow night. Our football team is going to be on it because they are having a doubleheader tomorrow. It's the first time in College Football history that a team has played 2 games in one day. It most likely will never happen again too. So, we have received national recognition. You already might have had a newspaper article about it in the paper near you. Check it out and see if you have. It's pretty cool. Well, I hope at least someone gets to see this. Talk to you later.

Yup...It's Friday!!

I would just like to reiterate this...It is Friday!!! Well, as Morgan said, we saw birds today: a falcon, an owl, a vulture, and a hawk. And for anyone who remembers, the man that works at the Raptor Rehabilitation Center and who gave the presentation in class today is the same guy who lead our sixth grade class through the trust course. Anyway, the birds were gorgeous...I want one! (not the vulture, preferably)
And I'm going to a party tonight, but don't get too shocked and excited (Mary, going to a party!?)...It's a hoedown at work (actually, I am working at it) for the residents and their families. I get to dress up like a cowboy! I know, I know, I am weird, but this excites me! And Deanna, if you don't come tonight, I will be very sad :(
So, I look forward to seeing you guys on fall break when you come home in the next few weeks.
Have a great weekend!

SECOND THAT ABBY

for all you DECATURIANS--- I'll be seeing you very soon- i'm coming home for the LONG weekend.......... I AM SO GLAD IT IS FRIDAY --------------- YAYAYAYAYAYA NO SCHOOL TILL WEDNESDAY :) HAVE A GREAT ONE :)

school...its for the birds...

hey kids

My class got let out a full 30 minutes early so I've got a little break here on this Friday morning. Not much going on here...so glad that it's the weekend though! I work a lot but who cares...no more teachers for a couple of days. Next class period we have a raptor guy coming to show us some birds. Just so long as they are not named "Rambo" I'll be ok. :)

This past weekend I worked at the hospital in ICU and a guy from my church was there...he and his wife are the sweetest old couple you have ever met, and it was sad to see him in that condition but so nice to be there and lend whatever menial help I can give. Working in a hospital certainly makes you thankful for every minute.

Nothing else major going on this week...few papers due, few classes giving me trouble...but it's FRIDAY!! Have a great one...

FFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm only slightly excited! :)

bear and bunny rabbit

A bear and a bunny were out in the woods taking a dump next to each other. The bear looks at the bunny and asks "Do you ever have that problem where you get doo-doo stuck in your fur?" The rabbit takes a second then says "Nope, I don't think so." So the bear grabs the bunny and wipes his butt with him.

Have a totally sweet Friday, my friends!

based on a true story

So, I was standing under a tree that my friends decided to climb...and a squirrel pooped on my head!!!!! end of story :) hope i made u smile! true story

Lost check

Yesterday evening my roommates and I were walking back to the dorm from supper. On the ground I saw a folded piece of paper. It was a paycheck for $110 to one of the girls that goes here. It was already signed and ready to be cashed.

So, we took it back to the room and jumped in the car. We rushed to the bank and cashed it. Sweet, huh?

Actually, we looked up the name on both the school's online facebook and the Facebook that we use to comment to each other. We found her and where she lived. Then we walked over there. It ended up that nobody was home. So, we took the check back to our room. I left her a message on Facebook saying that we had found her check. She replied late last night. She was super happy and thankful. Today after classes Jared and I took the check to her in the computer lab. We were heroes! haha

Yeah, that's another one of my good stories. It was pretty fun and we made a new friends in the meantime.

Pierced ears

I forgot something about this weekend. My roommate Jared pierced both his ears with a needle in our room. He had the left one done on the top already, but he did them both on the bottom. It was pretty funny. Then Jeremy got his ear pierced (on top, left ear) 2 weeks ago. They took the stud out of it and put a hoop in, which you aren't supposed to do for a while, as you all know. Well, his ear was swollen still and Jared couldn't find the back hole, so for about 5 min he was digging around in Jeremy's ear with the earring. Jeremy was screaming. It was all rather humorous. That was my exciting story.

By the way, that was a nice blog, Ben. Mary, you better appreciate that, because Ben rarely blogs.

Ohhhhh you mary

The only reason i am blogging is because mary is on here. Mary, I actually love you. Oh mary. Oh mary. HA ra ha. You are smart, and I am sorry for annoying you right this second. You rock...also, you rock. Rocking is a talent for many, but seriously, you bring a new meaning. Oh mary. The love we share. You keep keeping.

air conditioning

they turned off the air conditioning....it was still hot out...it was 86 today....they turned off the air conditioning...im going home....

Fun

I had a good weekend. Hung out, went to the Homecoming football game, went to a drive-in theater, hung out, did some homework. All in all, it was good. I'm not in a writing mood, so I'm not going to expand. :) Have a good day.

Grandparents, bowling, tree apple picking, and a lot of alumni.

This weekend was a really fun weekend. Friday afternoon my grandparents rolled in - drove in for all of you who would say "what they rolled.. thats' painful,. why didn't they just drive" megan and i helped them unload and then they took me out to eat to applebease or however you spell it for some yummy food. My grandma grew up here so she was showing me where she used to live... Then friday night i went to vespers with my grandpa and my friends and afterword I had to work at mosaic- a Friday night creative arts cafe-- with open mic and stuff- its really cool and i'm officially on the team. not just a volunteer.

Saturday we all went to second service and afterwords ate lunch. Then i slept for three hours and then went to a picnic alumni thing with my grandparents. afterword they took me to "downtown" and they showed me the drugstore where they had their first date with ONE malt and TWO straws - as my grandma told me ;) they're so cute lol anyway the guy that owned it was the son of the guy who owned it when my gparents went to school... so of course since i get my talking from my grandpa they talked for a long time.. so i just looked at stuff and of course gma buyes :) i love college.. lol then my grandparents dropped me off and i said goodbye-- since they were leaving at 8 in the mornign to go see my mom and dad and eight in the morning is early---

after they a bunch of us went bowling for extreme bowling-- it was fun-- i still have no bowling skills thank you! lol then we came back about 1 and me and mel and kristie watched a movie-- went to bed at about 330 and woke up to annoying sirens wich i thought was a disaster but really just the alumni having a parade MOST ANNOYING THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway i'm going to go-- thats the rundown of my weekend-- i hope everyone had a good weekend too---- :)

love ya

star spinning

Have you guys ever heard of star spinning? Probably not, because I think some guy just made it up. But we played that last night--if anyone was even watching us they would have died laughing most likely...:) So you spin around in circles for 30 seconds and then run into each other...:) Ya, it was really fun, seriously...you laugh so hard because you look so stupid and you are so dizzy...it's such a cool feeling. Anyways, so then we went to the Red Room aka the "cool" place to hang out..we played card games and foos ball :) and Catch phrase--I am so competittive at that game! Em and I were supposed to go to my aunt's house this weekend and watch my cousin play football, but he got sick so now I'm staying here. I might actually get my homework done before Sunday night! :)

p.s. I haven't taught them how to play ultimate ping pong yet, maybe tonight! ;) I'll try to do that trick shot off the corner just for you guys (Chris, Justin, and Morgan..) good memories!
