For those of you who don't know, our buddy Chris is gonna be in town soon (if you don't know him get off this blog...) and so I'm gonna host a party at my house for he and Jordan. About time I tell everyone

I am coming to Decatur Jan. 1-4. So, if you are anywhere close to Decatur I better see you. It's going to be fun, and if I don't see you, then you are missing out on a great opportunity to see the coolest guy ever.

Darin did it!

This is for anyone who didn't already hear. Darin did score his 1000th point on Friday night. He had 29 points and DCS won by 2 points. Congrats to him. Anyone who was in Decatur better have been there.

Today is Elijah's birthday. Happy Birthday to him. :)

I went to Michael's basketball practices yesterday and today. He's doing good. You all know he is a baller. It's fun to watch him.

Go to the DCS game tonight

Anyone who is in Decatur should go to the DCS basketball game tonight. Darin is going to score his 1000th career point. Everyone better be there to cheer for him because I can't be there.

NBA game

I got to go to my first NBA game last night. It was the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. the Sacremento Kings. It was fun. My roommate Jeremy got two tickets from his dad and picked me to go with him. The Timberwolves lost, though. It was 93-91. The Kings hit a buzzer beater to win. It was cool to see.

Actually, Deanna, everyone loves the Packers and nobody cares that you went skiing.

I'm done with finals now, too. It's a great feeling. I hope everybody gets done with school soon too.

Just so everyone knows

Just so everybody knows, the Packers won last night. It's been rare this year, so I thought I'd blog about it. 16-13 in overtime. We are now 3-10, so basically we are amazing. Well, I just got done writing a paper, so I thought I'd blog.

understanding

i now understand why they give you so many long breaks in college... --- because if they didn't... it wouldn't matter. i woulnd't come back for a month anyway after the end of the year projects, speeches, papers, and finals....lol-- i'm happy we only do this twice a year.. or i'd quit right now! :)

basically im' exhausted. i can't get enough sleep. i don't know why.. lol ;) i try.. naps just dont' cut it. so i dunno. thank you for your christmas break.. :)

right now i write you during a break of studying for my accounting final. its on wed.- blah blah blah- ya hopefully ill do ok. i have an A in the class right now, but my motivation is slow in coming, so i believe that its not going to be a pretty final grade-- or maybe i'll be lucky and pull off an A.. i can tell i'm tired because i'm blabbering on about nothing and until i realized it i had a whole paragraph of nothingness... yes.. i'm tired.. i sleep with my eyes open now!!! :)

i hope everyone is surviving.. i'll be soo in seeing you.. but if i don't respond when you call to hang out -- its cause i'm passed out on my bed catching up on my many hours of much needed HOME BED sleep... if you dormers know what i'm talking about. :)

the doings of me...

for Decatur, we've had a bit of snow recently...snow and enough days in the low teens to make me a believer in Hawaii. Nevertheless, I can't deny the certain thrill that comes with the first real snowfall each year. After choir the other day while it was still coming down pretty hard we had a hard core snowball fight...I mean rolling around in the drifts...and in our street clothes no less...20 min before we had to sing in a recital...it was quite a good time. Today we had another big day of concerts...I got to watch the funniest kids pageant I've ever seen I think...complete with missed lines, cell phones in bethlehem, and a 4 year old girl who decided that hark the herald angel sing was really meant to have tap dancing along with it....priceless. My little bro sang a solo that made everyone cry...and I was pretty proud. Finals are just around the corner, but there are several christmas parties this week before everyone goes home. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm really gonna miss them. Its amazing, I've met so many cool people here in the last two weeks...like, "where have you been hiding all semester??" ...anyway, I guess I'll get all of you back for a while during their absence, so it works out well. The computer's being stupid not letting me hit enter and this paragraph is getting long...so I'm off to bed...early for a change. Pray for my chem test tomorrow please...and drive safe coming home! Can't wait to see you all...blessings,

No more classes for a while

I am officially done with my classes. Too bad I have to do finals. I liked DCS because we didn't have finals. Now I do. Oh well, hopefully they won't be too bad. I have 2 on Monday, 1 on Tuesday, and 1 on Wednesday. I have basketball next week till Thursday and then I am going home on Friday morning. I am riding home with a lady who lives in Rhinelander. She was the youth pastor before my dad there. She's pretty cool, so it should be a fun ride. Tomorrow I have a basketball game in Iowa. We leave at 8 in the morning on a Saturday. What's up with that?? My whole Saturday will consist of bus rides and basketball. Which is not a bad day, except that it's a Saturday. I'll have to do some studying on the bus. Well, I hope everyone is doing well. 'Tis the season to be jolly!! :)

SNOW-- i'm forced to love it ;)

This was today on my way to class with julee... i got a little camera happy.. lol i get tired of being cooped up in my cage ;)!!! lol we have 8-12 inches of snow. and it really hasn't stopped snowing for three days.. i love it!

Oh boy! Where do I begin? I think I'll tell my weekend story using only keys words to keep you from boredom, adding complete sentences when necessary:

Airports=interesting place. Anywhere that lots of people can be found are, like malls, stadiums, cinemas. Airports: Good for people watching, waiting, reading, waiting, looking around, waiting, sitting, and sometimes waiting.

This last weekend. Freemont, MI. Uncle John and Aunt Susie Briggs and family. Their commissioning service. Me, guitar, 2 songs.
On way there, delayed. Bad weather in Cleveland (my connection stop). Oh boy! Read "Asher Lev" until eyes burned. On way out of Cleveland, delayed. Bad weather in Cleveland. Oh boy! Read "Asher Lev" until butt went numb. Arrived, Grand Rapids, midnight. Briggs' house, lasagna and cookies, 2 AM.
Crazy guy cousins, shirtless and barefoot, running in snow. Service went well. Saw relatives, cousins, grandparents, other random people.
On way out out of Grand Rapids, delayed. Bad weather in Cleveland. Oh boy! Read "Asher Lev" until brain tired of superfluous amount of jewish terminology and traditions. Arrived a few hours late in Cleveland. Totally missed my connection back to Dayton.
Decision: hotel, AM flight, find ride from Dayton OR call Devon (my planned ride from Dayton), get ride overnight back to Cedarville. I chose option 2. Devon's about as crazy as I am. He said yes, he'd come get me, 3 hours away.
Empty food court, killing time, writing song, reading Romans. Devon arrives 2AM. Steak N Shake stop. Back to CU at 6 AM.

So that's how it went down. What a crazy time it was.

weekends....and snow

well its been a really good weekend. friday started off with a bunch of things i was in charge of and up front for... aka i was busy friday from 3-12 doing things on campus for students. Saturday i went to church and then went to my friend jeff's house for dinner... i love home cooked food :) then after that me and megan tried to take a nap but we decided its impossible.. because SOMEONE is alwayyyyyyyyys knocking.. calling... texting.... or screaming in the hallway.. so we gave up on that and watched some tv. then me and melody went to her bf and my friend justin wind symphony Christmas concert.. then afterward i walked in the beautiful snow to the gym and watched the basketball game.. then after that we went to eat.. then after that i went to my friend jason's house to watch a movie and got back around 2 ish.. slept till 1230 today to wake up to it STILL snowing.. i love MI... at breakfast at about 2 and then watched some S** and the city episodes... then me and mel and justin watched elf together... then me and mel and justin went to this filipino church for a Christmas party and games.. and justin and i won this one partner prize.. then my friend jeff came and we were a couple and we won 10 dollars -- heck ya-- i love money :)

ya so then we came back to the dorm

this week includes... projects, homework, speeches, papers, and finals next week :) annoying but its college -- a week from wednesday i'm home :)

Messiah

So, this weekend was the first time I had ever since Messiah. The Friday night performance was o.k., but I almost fell asleep a few times and tried to solve the rubik's cube through part of it. I went to it again tonight..Yes, twice in one weekend. I am very cultured and highly intelligent right now..:) I enjoyed it alot tonight. I had friends singing solos, so maybe that was part of it. Anyways, my aunt Janet and cousin Aaron came to visit and took my sister and my roommate out to Steak 'n Shake...good times! :) I love family! Oh ya, I also had a "snow ball fight" on the way back to the room after Messiah. I say "snow ball fight" b/c there were only three of us in the fight and only a total of 4 snowballs were thrown. But the fun has just begun...we still have all winter..muhahaha.
OH, and just in case you'd like to know---it's my roommate's 1/2 birthday tomorrow and I'm planning on celebrating it with a treasure hunt for her...:)
