Nicaragua--But better this time

So, I don't know who all of you know or not, but you all should know. I'm not going back to Northwestern this fall. Instead I'm staying in Rhinelander and working and going to a tech school for the first semester. Then in January I'm going down to Nicaragua! I'm going to live there for 3 months and live with the pastor that my dad travels with everytime he goes down. I'll be working under that pastor's son with the youth. I'm super excited! It's going to be awesome.

We need to pray for Nicaragua though because they are having an election in November and a communist leader, Daniel Ortega, is gaining power. If he wins the election, the whole country will go into chaos. I won't be going down if that is the case, but more importantly we need to pray for the protection of the people and that they won't be oppressed by this leader.

Hello to all of you and I hope you are all doing good. It'd be nice to see some action on this thing again.

Nicaragua

My dad and Jordan and 40 other people left for Nicaragua today. Well, they left yesterday but their flight left at 5:30 this morning from Chicago. They are now in Nicaragua and I'm sure they are having a blast. I wish I was there, but it didn't work out for me to go this time.

Actually I was just interrupted from typing this by my dad calling to say that they made it down there safely and that they had an awesome welcome service. He said he wished that our whole family could be there so we wouldn't have to come back. haha

I've been working a ton lately and that's about all I've been doing. Thought I'd check in and say hi to everyone.

Greetings from my humid abode...

dude...I fail at life! I can't remember the last time I posted on here, although I have been keeping up on all of you by reading...thought I'd let you know I'm still alive and give you a brief rundown of life.

ummm...wow...

haha...forget it...It's impossible...but it has been a pretty fun summer...several camps, new friends, and trying to work in my old friends around the (cue ominous movie music) JOBS...Oh well. I'm learning lots from both of them and money is a very good thing. This summer is weird cause it feels like the first "adultish" summer of my life. I keep talking to people around here who can't figure out why the social life is going down the proverbial tubes and the summer is slipping by so quickly. It's odd, but i kind of appreciate that in a way because I'm relishing the small experiences even more because of it.

Life's changing too...friends getting married in the next year (say WHAT??) and my little bro getting to be almost as tall as me and Casey is driving. ahhh!!!

Hope all of your summers are going well and you are slurping up the experiences like so much watermelon at a picnic. Chris...you should probably come and visit sometime soon. I miss my friend that has the same last name as me... ;)

Love you all!!
